  ID question...

I want to identify a heer hauptmann, name unknown, but I have the date of birth and date of death. Can an identification be done with these dates alone?

Dear MrJ !

For what reason ?

I think it´s probably not wrong to tell something about the background of your question.....in order to get any answer.

Have a nice weekend

Bernhard

Yes, of course. I have a number of photos of the same man over several years, as a young man in the RAD, a young officer, and then, I believe, a Hptm. of Pioniers. A couple of the photos have the birth and death dates of the man on the back, but no other data. I've had these for several years, and have long wondered as to the identity of this officer.

Good morning MrJ,

I understand.

It´s might be possible to find him by his birth date in one of these "Rangliste des Heeres". Much work.

Please let me know his date of birth.

Best regards
Bernhard

Thank-you, Bernhard. The dates are 25.IV.1917-18.VI.1942.

Hi !

Unfortunately I have no records with these dates, the other idea I had wasn´t succesful too - there is an Oberleutnant born on 25.04.1917 but the date of death doesn´t match.

I will keep your question in mind.

Best regards
Bernhard
