Map with German soldier's graves |
|
Hello
I am new to this forum but find it very interesting. I do live in Germany but my German is limited. I am retired from the US Army and I am very much into military history. A few years ago I purchased a photo album of a German soldier that was killed 22.03.1942 in Russia near the Ukrainian border. The photo album contained some military urkunden, letters to his wife about his death and a detailed map to where his grave is. On the map it also shows some other graves of possible German soldiers. I have done some research on Google Earth and have located the village and street where it shows the graves. I looked up his information on the Gräbersuche. It gave the area name of the town in the area where the grave is located and that he has not been relocated to a collection cemetary. Would you have any interest in this map or the location of the graves? The soldiers name is:
Oberfeldwebel Kluth Bernhard
Geburtsdatum: 30.08.1916
Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 22.03.1942
Todes-/Vermisstenort: Aleksjewka

Hi "warhog20",
Thanks for your posting. This information on the soldiers' graves should be interesting for specific German organizations.
But please don't give maps or closer information on the graves away to any private person! Grave robbers supposedly are forums members like you and me, in order to get that info to prepare another robbery.
I guess the forum admins will contact you, you better trust them only.
I for one, for my project, am interested in the info if this soldier finally died in a German medic company, in a field hospital or so, and if so, in which one and where it was located then. Also, which Alekseyevka it was. Please feel free to contact me privately via e-mail. Thanks so much in advance.

Hallo Jürgen,
I do not know if the soldier died in a field hospital or medical company. I did not see any of this in the paperwork. I will check it again. Sorry I did not get in contact with you earlier. So far you are the only person that has tried to contact me.
