not at the best! Usually, under normal circumstances, a Wehrmachtssoldat only after 12 months could (not: would) have been advanced to Gefreiter. Generally, the Wehrmacht didn't know any "automatic" advancement system after a certain time of service. A soldier had to earn his rank. So there were countless Soldaten who after 6 years of service never had been advanced and still were Schütze, Matrose or Flieger at the end of WW II ...
Also, in between there was the rank of Obersoldat, Oberschütze, and so on.

Dear German Friends - I trying to help for You because history of Pommeren in 1945 is also my hobby but I'm sure that You also help for me to find uncle Stanislaus Zeglarek or get more information about him for next searching in WaSt.
As I promissed , I will try to get more details or documents from my side about grandperents, father and uncle.
