Killed in the Netherlands |
|
Hello all,
I am working on some research about the bombing of the Dutch town of Gouda.
The railwaystation was bombed on 6 and 26 November 1944.
On the 26st a hospital was hit. The hospital was used as a Kriegslazarette!
According to the records 17 Dutch people where killed but there are no reports of any German casualtys.
This is very strange while the building was in use.
Is there a way to find out where German soldiers were killed?
Danke,
mfg.
Erik

Hi Erik,
you should ask the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge (www.volksbund.de) via E-Mail if there are any soldier listed in their database who was killed in Gouda during WWII.
Otherwise you can ask Richard Schoutissen a Member of this Forum (http://vksvg.de/profile.php?userid=92). He is specialised in researches concern WWII war dead in the Netherlands and he has much information about the german war dead who were buried in Ysselsteyn.
Best regards,
Alex

@Alexander, thank you !
Hello Erik,
A quick check of my archive tells me that there where 5 German soldiers killed on November 6, 1944 and 14 German soldiers on November 26, 1944 in the Gouda area. The Germans killed on November 26, 1944 where from eight different units, by the way.
